Trager Method – was developed by Milton Trager is uses movement exercises called mentastics along with massage movements, rocking and shaking gently different parts of the body to elevate build up tensions in the muscle tissues.

Rolfing is defined as using a systematic was or technique of structural integration developed by Ida Rolf. Rolfing aligns the major body parts and segments through stretching and striping of the fascia or connective tissues. Someone that has had rolfing done will experience pain this modality is not without soreness.

Reflexology – Reflexology originated with the Chinese and is practiced by putting pressure on he foot or hands that will stimulate certain organs of the body by pressing in certain locations. Eunice Ingham was credited with mapping the hands and feet and devising a technique that is popular today.

Touch for health is a simple form of kinesiology. This method of massage involves techniques that relieves stress on the muscles and internal organs.

The practice of massage therapy or anmo massage methods in the Japanese culture started in the six century A.D. The Japanese called the points that the Chinese has taught about but for the most part were called tsubo point in the Japanese culture. These points when pressed would let the practitioner to affect the flow of fluids just beneath the surface of the skin these fluids would be known as Ki the universal life energy. Shiatsu is the application of pressure when applied by the fingers to the corresponding tsubo points to the body. This method of massage has become quite popular in recent years.

In shiatsu there are mentioned in the Japanese book of massage called the San-Tsai-Tou-Hoei. In this book where listed both passive and active methods of performing massage on the human body. This practice was to correct the flow of Ki which in the Chinese culture is called Chi. In turn it would assist the body in healing medically what every ailed a person. Pain would be alleviated and a sense of well being would be instilled in the patient.

Tsubo points number somewhere in the neighborhood of 660 major points along 12 general channels in the body with various points along the pathway that would assist in either obstructing the flow of Ki or allowing it to flow freely. The points along the path would affect the organs that the channel is associated with, such as lung, large intestine, pericardium, triple burner, heart, small intestine which are all found on the hand. The Gallbladder, Urinary bladder, stomach and triple warmer are all found around the eye.

Additional channels called the governing and conception vessels or channels where also established for maintaining balance of Ki a constant flow of universal energy.
