Florida CEUs Needed to renew your license
With all the new rules in effect about having to get 12 hands on hours and 12 general CEUs for the 2 year renewal period their has been confusion even for those that are providing the CEUs. For those people needing CEUs CEbroker will not even tell you what is really needed. CEbroker only breaks it down into LIVE and GENERAL categories.
What people need to be aware of is if the CEU provider registered the course as general and it should have been hands on the CEUs will not count as hands on. At this point no one has heard good or bad news from the state on weather there will be some grace period or not. The best advise is do your homework by making sure you have enough CEUs if you were to get audited.
Each year the state audits therapists at random so it is very important that you keep up with all the certificates that you get from CEU classes. File them away for a rainy day. You should keep at least 4 years worth on file just in case.
CEbroker unfortunately, costs an additional 35.00 every 2 years but can keep you out of hot water with the Board of Massage so in my book an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Why risk it if you don’t need to. If you are a new therapist and not a member of CEbroker they are also offering a 7 day free trial so you can see what the state can see as far as your CEUs posted.
It is not up to the provider to make sure that you have the correct information posted. You need to make sure that it is accurate. You are responsible for your own license and renewal, why not take the extra time you should to make sure everything is correct.
