Skeletal System True Ribs

True ribs are those ribs that attach directly to the sternum via costal cartiage. Ribs 8,9,10 are rib pairs that attach the the last true rib. False ribs that don’t attach to directly to the sternum are not like floating ribs which are called that because the the two ribs don’t have cartilage and don’t attach to the sternum.
The longest bone in the body is called the humerous. The large bony process of the ulna is called the Olecronon. An endangerment site of the sternum is called the xiphoid process. The number of carpals in the body is 16. The number of metacarpals in the body is 10. The number of phalanges in each hand is 14 and 28 in both hands. The total number of bones in one hand is 27 and 54 in both hands.
Another name for the pelvis bones is coxal bones. The longest bone in the body and also the strongest is the femur. The socket in the hip that is made up of there bones which are illium, ischium, and pubis is the acetabullium.
Another name for the shin bone is called the tibia. The knee cap is called the patella and is also a sesmoid bone which means it’s encapsulated within liagments.
The heal bone called the calcaneous is also the largest of the tarsals.
The male is the gender that has a 90 degree angle in the pelvis girdle.
The hyoid bone is the only bone in the body that does not connect to another bone it is free floating surrounded by tendons and muscle.
